Because of the computer's bright touchscreen display and the enormously high number of functions and qualities Edge 800 stands out of the mass of all the other bike computers in the market. Loyal Garmin customers and any other brand of bike computer customers will be quite surprised by the features which weren't previously seen on any Garmin or on any other bike computer brand.
By means of easy menu guidance the Edge 800's touchscreen includes a "menu" position at the bottom of the screen and two arrow buttons. (You are able to see that at the slide show;"data field categories)
One of the great features are the three fully adaptable data screens; a navigation screen, a map screen, and a simulated training partner (just when you have manually activated it) screen.
Another remarkable feature is the "Where To?" button which is integrated in the main menu. It lets you navigate by tracks, coordinates, points of interest(POI), adresses, and much more.
But that weren't by far not all the features. In addition to the already mentioned ones the Edge 800 comes with someuseful buttons. First of I want to reveal the "History" button's job which is giving an insight to yor stored activity list and all of your data. Second The "Training" button allows you setting time, distance, heart rate and other alerts. Third the "VIrtual Partner" buttonbutton lets set up partner speed. At last I want to mention the "Courses" who lets you generate and name your new courses.
As you can see on the images in the slide show on the right the Edge 800 has three physical buttons which are power on/off button, and a pair of buttons for lap/reset and workout start/stop. The Data field categories implicate timing, distance, speed, elevation, heart rate, pedaling cadence, power, navigation, courses, and workouts.
Besides the data like distance and speed determined by GPS, a barometric altimeter enables the calculation of the exact data of hight which enables the creation of an accurate hights profile.
The Garmin Edge 800 can be purchased in the beginning of October 2010. Everyone who wants to improve and optimize his workouts and training sessions on the bike will be for sure satisfied with this product.
